It is with great excitement that I anticipate the new school year. It is such an honor to be a part of St. Columbkille School and to share the new academic year with our students.
I am so fortunate to get to spend my school day sharing about the love of God and teaching the beliefs of our beautiful Catholic faith as I lead my 8th grade Religion classes. Additionally, I am so excited to teach 7th graders about Ancient Civilizations and US geography and history to 8th graders in Social Studies.
I grew up in Omaha and come from a family of educators. My father taught with distinction for 43 years; two of my brothers and their wives were teachers. I learned the value of faith, character, hard work, and education from my dear parents. For many years, my experiences were as a military wife living in many different places raising my four children. We lived in many parts of the US (Virginia, Washington, California, Georgia, Connecticut, Texas, and Nebraska) and in Japan for four years. My four children are all grown and live all over the country. My oldest son, Bryan, is a political organizer and lives in Seattle. Molly, my daughter, is a special education teacher and lives in Chicago with her husband and my grandson, Clarke. My second son, Kevin, is a theology teacher at a Jesuit school outside of Washington DC. My youngest son, Jon, is a Major in the US Army and is stationed at Ft. Lee near Richmond, Virginia; he is married and has two little girls, Kinsey and Hazel. My Catholic faith and relationship with Jesus and my family and friends are the greatest blessings in my life.
I look forward to a faith-filled journey of sharing and learning this year, 2017-2018. My homework will be posted daily on the junior high homework blog at the following link: stc7-8homework.blogspot.com/
Please know that my students and their families are always in my prayers.
May God bless our journey this year!
